Dentures & Partial Dentures

Many people over the age of 65 lose all or some of their teeth. Full and partial dentures are a great way to feel confident about smiling when you lose your teeth. They are sturdy and made to suction in your mouth/gums in order to stay in place. Most importantly, today’s dentures are carefully made to look as natural as possible.

 

Whether you require full dentures or partials, yours will be custom made to meet your needs. Full dentures usually consist of an acrylic base that fits over the gums, which is topped by the false teeth. The top dentures are carefully shaped to fill in your missing teeth and fit along the roof of your mouth, while the bottom dentures will have space to accommodate your tongue. Partial dentures are even more carefully fitted to ensure that they replace only those teeth that need replacing.

 

Our office will instruct you in denture care (which is very important). Generally, the dentures should be cleaned at least once a day and soaked in a special solution or water when they are not in use. We will give you more details on care when we fit you for your dentures.
