Inlays and Onlays

When a severely decayed or damaged tooth cannot be fixed with a simple filling, but at the same time isn’t damaged enough to require a crown, it might be time to turn to an inlay or onlay. These can be created from gold, porcelain, or composite resin. We’ll go over the benefits of each material and help you decide which is right for your needs.

 

This option is more conservative (and often more affordable) than a crown but more dramatic (and generally more expensive) than fillings. However, when it comes to creating the inlay/onlay and applying it, the procedure is often very similar to that of dental crowns.
